Mbali Mbali lodges & Camps was established in 2000 with the first camp in Mahale, then Gombe in 2002. In the following years Katavi and Tarangire were added to the portfolio.
The company comprises of Kigoma Hilltop Hotel, Gombe Forest Lodge, Katuma Bush Lodge, Kungwe Beach Lodge, Tarangire River Lodge and our latest addition, Soroi Serengeti Lodge which opened it’s doors in 2010.
Originally called Chimpanzee Safaris, this name was changed in 2008 to Mbali Mbali (meaning far far away) due to the growth of the company, establishing camps in both the West and the Northern parts of Tanzania and continuing plans to expand even further.
We are proud of the quality of our staff at Mbali Mbali, many of whom have been with us since we hammered in the first tent poles 12 years ago. Our lodge managers are all professional, personable and dedicated to making your stay an exceptional one.
Our highly trained chefs and waiters serve delicious meals and snacks and can accommodate most dietary requests and preferences if given notice. Our guides are all qualified and experienced and have a genuine love of the bush and the animals they will take you to see.
Our sister company, Zantas Air which was established in 1995 uses modern Cessna 208 ‘Caravans’ and C206s for all our shared and private charter flights. The pilots are all highly trained and know our areas and airstrips thoroughly. The aircraft are scrupulously maintained and are equipped with all the latest and safest avionics.
