Our Mbali Mbali Shared Charter operates on a Monday and Thursday schedule, flying through Arusha - Katavi - Mahale - Kigoma - Arusha, with an option to be picked up or dropped off at different destinations in Tanzania, at a supplemental cost.
Katavi National Park
The easiest and most convenient option is to fly into Katavi National Park using private charter or shared charter flights. Driving to Katavi is possible in the dry season, but this option is not recommended during the rainy season, because of the distance and state of the roads.

The most reliable way to reach Kigoma is by private charter or shared charter flights. Commercial flights also operate to and from Dar es Salaam during certain periods of the year. Scheduled charter flights operate from and to Mwanza.
Alternatively, for the more adventurous guests, you can drive in to town by road, travel by rail accross Tanzania, or by water with the M.V. Liemba.

Gombe Stream National Park
Gombe Stream National Park is only accessible by boat from Kigoma. A boat transfer on our boats take approximately 60 to 90 minutes depending on weather conditions and the type of boat used.
Mbali Mbali arranges boat transfers with dhow boats; this allows you to take in the surroundings with a gentle cruise along the lakeshore. The boat journey passes by picturesque fishing villages and spectacular scenery.

Mahale Moutains National Park is only accessible by private charter or shared charter flights to the small airstrip just outside the park.
A boat transfer, from the Mahale Airstrip to Kungwe Beach Lodge, on our dhow boat takes approximately 90 minutes depending on weather conditions. The boat journey passes by picturesque fishing villages and spectacular scenery. Spot primates, wildlife and birds along the lakeshore.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire is accessible by vehicle transfers from Arusha, which is a mere 2.5 hour drive away depending on traffic and weather conditions. Fly into the domestic airport in Arusha by private or sheduled charter flights. Alternatively, fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport and drive to Arusha to start your journey to Tarangire National Park.
Serengeti National Park
Scheduled flights operate daily from both Dar es Salaam International Airport and Arusha Domestic Airport to the Seronera Airstrip. From here, it takes a 1.5 hours to drive to the Soroi Serengeti Lodge. Start your safari as soon as you board your vehicle at the airstrip; you'll spot plenty of game depending on the season.
The main access road from Arusha into the Serengeti is through Naabi Hill Gate; driving from Arusha can take approximately 8 hours depending on the season and weather conditions.
