Wakusi

Park: Mahale
Gender: Female
Born: 1961
Still Alive: Alive

Probably the highest ranking female in the Group, Wakusi has a distinctive cut on her head and is also a very shy female. It is thought by researchers that Wakusi is more sexually active during oestrus than any of the other female, due to the mating statistics – Wakusi gave birth in 2002 and after the infant died 1 year later, she carried the corpse for more than two weeks until it started falling apart. She gave birth again in 2004 and this infant died during the pneumonia outbreak in 2006.

Atena

Park: Mahale
Gender: Female
Born: 1995
Still Alive: Deceased

Just like Vera, recognized by the dots on her face, Atena dissapeared just before the outbreak in 2006. This is during the time she had reached her sexual prime and is thought that she moved to a neighbouring group to avoid her own brother Alofu, who at that time was the Alpha Male of the Group.
